I recently started looking at various photography titles/types that have popped up on social media (at least here in YEG) and one that is gaining momentum is "Edmonton Branding Photographer." For the 15 years+ that I have been shooting the labels that I usually come across were the very basic, black-and-white telling titles of head shot photographer, wedding photographer, product photographer, or even corporate and commercial photographer. But there seems to be a trend towards a more broad grouping that allows for a variety of photography subjects. Without realizing it I clearly fit into this broader term.

What does Branding mean?

I have always been proud of being able to do a wide variety of corporate oriented photography- after all it's one stop shopping for our clients who need various photos for their businesses (and naturally of themselves) and as we get more into "transparency" while on social media we use it to connect with others both personally and professionally creating the coveted relationship we so desire in every aspect of our lives. Every email I receive I am asked for one service but then I am asked if I supply other types of photography that go hand in hand under the umbrella of "corporate." I have even noticed huge brands taking on lifestyle photographers or family photographers to bring about a sense of intimacy and feeling for their brand. It makes a lot of sense!

Photos create emotion. For ages companies and business were considered the very opposite of evoking any sort of emotion! In fact we all know the stereotype of business-the image of a bored employee behind four office walls. This simply isn't the case in 2019! Businesses are having fun! They want to create an atmosphere for their workers and clients and they want to portray that in their social media!

So here it is! I'm coming out! I'm a leading Edmonton Branding Photographer and I'm happy about it! I've been a branding photographer for almost two decades-even before it was a thing (or at least a labelled thing on social media!)Nice to meet you!
